In 1924 , it was renamed Colegio de San Vicente de paul (CSVP) and was transferred to Brgy.Rawis afters seperation from the seminary.
In 1952, two american franciscan missionaries of the assumption of the blessed Virigim Mary (BVM) Province of Pulaski, Wisconsin , USA, arrived in Calbayog City.
CSVP was transferred from Brgy.Rawis to its present location Magsaysay Boulevard. On October 30 , 1955, CSVP was dedicated to Chris the King, hence, the present name Christ the King College.
SCHOOL SEAL
The MACE of CHRIST THE KING COLLEGE (CKC) is a ceremonial staff made of heavy wood graced by the CKC seal surrounded with laurel.
It symbolizes authority of the CKC President (which includes Scholarship or high level of Learning/Academic Excellence and Integrity since CKC is a Catholic Franciscan Educational Institution).
Aside from the engraved School Name, Founding Year which is 1905, and the seat of service which is Calbayog City, a Crowned CHI-RHO is at the center of the Mace. This represents CHRIST, the King of Universe - a constant reminder to all Christi Regians that CHRIST is the AXIS around which Instructional Programs and academic life of CKC must revolve.
The laurel has long been a symbol of victory, and in the Catholic Faith, laurel symbolizes Christ's Resurrection, the greatest triumph of humanity.
The College Mace is carried by the Secretary of the College before the President during Commencement, inaugural, and other academic processions.
It will be highlighted more on 18 June 2019 during the INVESTITURE of FR. JOVITO M. MALINAO, OFM, the 28th CKC President.
